FAQ

Have a question?

It’s completely normal to have questions before starting counselling. You might be wondering what happens in a session, how it all works, or whether counselling is right for you.

I’ve answered some of the questions you might have below. I hope they help you feel a little more comfortable about taking that first step.

And if you still have a question, just ask. You don’t need to know exactly what to say or have everything figured out before you get in touch.

I offer face-to-face counselling in two private, comfortable therapy rooms in North London, as well as online sessions if that's a better fit for you.

If you have any questions about finding me or getting here, just ask. I'll be happy to help.

My sessions are £75 for a 50-minute session. Payment is made in advance of your session.

You can pay in either of two ways:

  • Bank transfer
  • A secure payment link

If you have any questions about payments or would like to know more before booking, please feel free to get in touch. I'm happy to help.

Taking the first step can feel daunting, but I'll do my best to make the process as easy as possible. You can get in touch in whichever way feels most comfortable:

  • By phone — if I don't answer, I'll most likely be in a counselling session. Leave a voicemail with your name and number and I'll get back to you as soon as I can.
  • By email — if you'd rather not leave a voicemail, that's absolutely okay. Just email me instead.
  • Through the contact form on this website.

You don't need to tell me your whole story. Just let me know:

  • Your name
  • The best way to reach you
  • A few words about what brings you here

I'll get back to you within 24 hours (Monday to Friday). From there, we can arrange a free 20-minute introductory call — a chance for us to meet, for you to ask any questions, and to see if I'm the right counsellor for you. There's no pressure or obligation.

Online counselling works much like meeting in person, just from the comfort of your own home or another private space where you feel safe and won't be interrupted.

Before our first session, I'll email you a Zoom link. You don't need a Zoom account, and if you haven't used it before, it's quick and easy to set up. At the time of your appointment, simply click the link and I'll meet you there.

All you'll need is:

  • A reliable internet connection
  • A device with a camera and microphone
  • A quiet, private space where you can talk freely

Many people find online counselling just as effective as face-to-face sessions. It can also be a more convenient option if you have a busy schedule, travel often, or simply feel more comfortable being in your own surroundings.

What you share in counselling is confidential, and what we talk about stays between us. I want you to feel safe and comfortable being open about what's going on for you. There are a few exceptions to confidentiality, which I will explain during our first session so you know how it works.

I understand that finding time for counselling around work and everyday life can sometimes be difficult, so I offer evening appointments to make it easier to find a time that works for you.

My current working hours are Monday to Friday, 5:00pm–8:00pm:

  • Tuesdays — face-to-face in Golders Green
  • Wednesdays — face-to-face in Finchley Central
  • Other evenings — online

If you're unsure about availability or would like to ask about a specific time, please get in touch and I'll be happy to help.

Everyone's journey is different, so it's difficult to say exactly how many sessions you will need before we begin. It depends on what brings you to counselling, what you would like to explore, and what feels right for you.

In our first session, we can talk about what you're looking for from counselling and what you hope to get from our work together. We can then regularly check in and make sure the sessions continue to feel helpful for you.

How starting works

01→

A free 20-minute call

Informal and brief. No pressure and no commitment — a space to see how it feels to talk with me.

02→

Your first session

Fifty minutes, online or in person. You lead. Nothing has to be tidy or well explained.

03

Weekly, for as long as helps

We review together as we go, and you decide when the work is finished.

Still unsure?

That’s what the free call is for. Twenty minutes, no cost, no commitment.
